DigiNotar files for bankruptcy: BBC News

On September 20th, 2011, BBC News reported on how the Dutch computer security firm DigiNotar has filed for bankruptcy.  DigiNotar's internal systems were recently compromised by the hacker ComodoHacker.  ComodoHacker then issued fake security certificates that could be used to impersonate web firms like Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Skype.

DigiNotar will be folded up into its parent company, Vasco.  Vasco released a statement that said "We are working to quantify the damages caused by the hacker's intrusion into DigiNotar's system and will provide an estimate of the range of losses as soon as possible. "
