Government Opposes Bradley Manning Defense Witness Requests: Wired

On Dec. 8th, 2011, Kim Zetter reported for Wired that the US government will attempt to prevent Bradley Manning's defense team from calling all of its witnesses.  According to the article, the government is opposed to calling the military mental health expert who examined Manning and any other witnesses who will testify to Manning's mental/emotional health.  This information was gleaned from the defense response to the government’s opposition.  It seems that the government has argued that this testimony will be irrelevant to the case.

It also appears that the defense team will not be able to call President Obama or Secretary of State Clinton as witnesses.  What a surprise.
