Chinese Hackers Targeting Smart Cards To Grab U.S. Defense Data: CNET

On Jan. 13th, 2012, Lance Whitney reported for CNet on a new Chinese cyber-attack.  According to the article, the Chinese are using a piece of malware called Sykipot to compromise US government smart cards.  Those compromised smart cards would then allow the Chinese to steal data from DOD networks. 

For those who don't know, smart cards are supposed to provide an extra layer of defense for government computer users.  Generally a person inputs their password, then inserts their government issued smart card into the computer keyboard.  The US military uses the CAC card
