Hackers Disrupt Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, Israeli Airline Website: Reuters

On Jan. 16th, 2012, Reuters reported on the on-going cyber-conflict (dare I say cyberwar) going on in Israel.  Previously, a Saudi Arabian hacker released a number of Israeli credit card numbers.  That prompted retaliation by an Israeli hacker in the form of releasing Saudi credit card numbers.  Hackers from Gaza then got involved, defacing a few Israeli websites.  According to the article, the conflict has escalated again: hackers attacked the websites of the Israeli Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and El Al Airlines (Israel's flag carrier airline).  The article notes that both airline services and trading activities are running normally, but the site of El Al Israel Airlines did crash.

Yaakov Lappin reports for the Jerusalem Post that OxOmar, the Saudi hacker responsible for leaking all those Israeli credit card numbers, has claimed responsibility for this attack.

According to the article, a pro-Israel hacker called Hannibal claims that he has "information that would allow for the breaking in to 10 million Iranian and Saudi bank accounts", possibly causing billions of dollars in damage.  Moreover, Hannibal published Facebook login information for 20,000 Arab Facebook users, possibly causing thousands of compromising profile pictures.
