US Expels Venezuelan Diplomat After Cyber Spying Charges: Washington Post

On Jan. 8th, 2012, the Washington Post reported that the US State Department has expelled Venezuelan diplomat Livia Acosta Noguera.  Noguera was involved in plotting a cyberattack against US nuclear plants with Iranian hackers.  That cyberattack never went through, but a Univision documentary captured Noguera having those discussions.

According to the article, the State Department didn't cite its reason for expelling Noguera.  However, it seems all but certain that these cyberattack allegations were the reason.  The expulsion allows for an FBI investigation into the allegations.
