Obama’s Cyber Attack: WSJ

On 9/23, The Wall Street Journal posted an op-ed on President Obama’s cybersecurity policy.  Unfortunately, the article may be behind a paywall; sometimes I put the article’s title into Google and it will allow me to review it on free pass whereas it previously blocked me.  Anyways, the op-ed questions President Obama’s approach with the cybersecurity EO.  Suggesting that the administration actually torpedoed a Senate compromise over cybersecurity legislation, the WSJ believes that “[t]he Administration’s evident motive is to impose government oversight of cyberspace.”  The op-ed goes on to say that a bill like CISPA would be a reasonable approach, but a cybersecurity EO would be “a case of the medicine being worse that the disease” due to a slow bureaucracy in a fast-paced cyber world.
