DoD concerned about pacemakers? Business Insider

On 10/22, Geoffrey Ingersoll wrote for Business Insider on the DoD’s concerns about cardiac pacemakers.  Researchers have found that cardiac pacemakers and insulin pumps are highly vulnerable to hacking, with one article describing how a hacker could potentially write assassination malware that overloads pacemakers.  Well, DoD took notice.  Ingersoll notes that the Naval Surface Warfare Center “posted an information and equipment request to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website concerning cardiac pacemakers and their vulnerabilities.”  That posting is looking for sources that can provide “testing of electromagnetic vulnerability” for pacemaker devices.
