Project Blitzkrieg targets 30 banks, millions of dollars? CNN

CNN’s David Goldman reports that McAfee (the firm, not the man) has “released a report warning that a massive cyberattack on 30 U.S. banks has been planned, with the goal of stealing millions of dollars from consumers’ bank accounts.”  RSA released a similar report.  According to CNN, via RSA, the attack is coming out of Russia, and uses some very deceptive/original tactics.

Via Katherine Bindley’s article for the Huffington Post:

‘There is much speculation whether Project Blitzkrieg is real or simply a creation of Russian law enforcement as a sting operation. Our analysis suggests it is authentic, though the timing of the fraudulent activity is unknown,’ the [McAfee] report states.
