Pentagon Exempts Cyber Weapons From Collateral Damage Directive: Nextgov

Nextgov’s Dawn Lim reports that the DoD is dropping traditional requirements that weapons “must have human machine interfaces designed to allow . . . appropriate levels of human judgment” for “developers of computer systems that launch cyber operations.”  Essentially, DoD is enabling automation in cyberattacks.  This new development jives with Plan X, DARPA’s new cyberwarfare management platform that will likely incorporate automation.
