Air Force’s cyber commander warns over Iranian cyber-soldiers: BBC/arstechnica/DoD

The BBC reports that USAF Gen William Shelton, commander of USAF Space Command, said that cyberattacks are turning Iran into “a force to be reckoned with, with the potential capabilities that they will develop over the years and the potential threat that will represent to the United States.”

On the same point, arstechnica’s Sean Gallagher quoted Gen Shelton when he said that “[i]t’s clear that the Natanz situation [(Stuxnet)] generated reaction by them.”

Via the American Forces Press Service, Cheryl Pellerin reported on Air Force Space Command’s efforts to “add 1,000 new people, mainly civilians, to its base of about 6,000 cyber professionals for fiscal 2014.”  CyberComm is fueling these hirings.  The article contained a nice discussion of the 24th Air Force, a numbered Air Force responsible for USAF cyber operations.
