NIST, Education Department To Provide Cyber-education

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the same organization behind NSTIC, has agreed to work with the Department of Education and the newly created National Cybersecurity Education Council (NCEC) to promote formal cybersecurity education.  This in a recent press release from NIST.  The plan is designed to "broaden the pool of skilled workers capable of supporting a cyber-secure nation" by improving awareness, workforce structure, workforce training, and formal education.  This initiative will also work with state and local officials to provide formal cybersecurity education programs for K-12, higher education, and vocational programs.
