Chinese take down video showing cyberwar capability

In a recent article, the Washington Post detailed how a Chinese documentary which showed off the PLA's ability to conduct a cyberattack against US websites was yanked from the website of state-run TV.  The clip came from a state-run documentary on cyberwar and appeared to show a user conducting an attack on an Alabama-based website.

This clip is significant because it provided "an uncommonly candid depicition of China's offensive cyber-capabilities."  The Chinese government routinely denies responsibility for online espionage and cyber attacks, but widespread reports seem to indicate government support.  Chinese officials stated that the clip was just the result of an imaginative producer and did not represent the official policy of the Chinese government.  Going on, the official claimed that the “Chinese military has never implemented any form of cyber attacks.”  The Pentagon’s annual report on China’s military stated that numerous computer systems around the world, including in the United States, were penetrated in attacks that “appear to have originated” in China.
